Cantueso Restaurante Wins the II Ruta de la Tapa de Periana!

We are beyond thrilled to share some exciting news with you all! Cantueso Restaurante has just been crowned the winner of the II Ruta de la Tapa de Periana, a competition that celebrates the best of local gastronomy. It was an incredible event where hundreds of locals and visitors explored the town, savoring creative tapas from different restaurants, each offered at an affordable price of just €2.

What makes this victory even more special is that it was you, our guests, who voted for the best tapa. Your appreciation and support mean the world to us, and we couldn’t be more grateful!

A Tapa That Stole the Show

Our winning creation was a Torta Inés Rosales with carne pibil, pickled onion, quail egg, and verdial olive mayonnaise. It was a true fusion of flavors, bringing together the rich traditions of Andalusian cuisine with a unique twist.

As head chef Visitación Casado Casado explains:
“With this tapa, we wanted to combine unique products like Torta Inés Rosales and carne pibil with the distinctive flavors of our region, such as Verdial olives. It’s a perfect example of what we do at Cantueso Restaurante – always aiming to surprise our guests while staying true to traditional cuisine and our local roots.”
